Re: 4th - Magic points?
There are downsides to casting too much. Miscasts can happen when you roll a critical success when casting spells, or when you fumble on casting or channeling.

I was surprised by that pun as well, but then I'm not a native English speaker.
I pronounced it the "bear-e-belly" That said, I did find it strange that Josef's boat had a Tilean-sounding name though

You do fall unconscious at zero wounds though. But as said, criticals only start when you go below zero.

How about a Warrior Priest with divine magic?

Since they lost their dedicated map map fanatic when Andy Law left, I wouldn't count on it.

Re: Removing advantage from the game?
I've been thinking of hourseruling Advantage as well. My current idea leaves the rules mostly as they are, except that your Advantage doesn't automatically increase the Damage you do. You can add you Advantage to your Damage after you hit but then you lose all of it (just like most big creatures whe...

Re: Mad Men of Gotheim
That's good to hear
I had a similar experience with the mutant leader in the Making The Rounds scenario.
He bleeds brass when hit (counts as corrosive blood) which, together with the "regular" mutants outnumbering the party made for a very tense fight.

I wasn't aware there was an introduction thread so sorry for posting in the other forums already  I'm Arnizipal, and I use this handle on just about any forum I frequent (from Warseer to DakkaDakka to the Warhammer Total War forums). I've been GM'ing Warhammer Roleplay for over two decades, st...

Re: 4th Edition Fumble Tables
I deliberately tried to cut back on additional dicerolls to speed things up, so it's not a bug but a feature :D That being said, for each fumble you can just roll a D10 (rerolling results of 0) and use that result. There are separate tables per weapon type and one for parrying weapons (which can als...

4th Edition Fumble Tables
I've always been a fan of fumble tables, ever since the booklet was released for 1st edition. I adapted the list for 2nd edition and now I've attempted to update them to 4th. You fumble if you roll a double over your Weaponskill, and it 4th edition you then make an extra roll on the "Oops Table...

Re: Combat example
Those blog posts read as if a fan is just messing around with a system; far from thought-through experienced rules design. No surprise then how the book ended up the way it did. I definitely don't buy the "Lead designer (Dom) and Lead producer (Andy) do not agree" explanation. Why not? Th...

I fully agree. Why can't they just send their newsletter? Same with Facebook and all those discord channels. We have this perfect forum. I don't think they're actually members here  Although it would be nice to have developer input on the forums. EDIT: I stand corrected. Graeme Davis is on her...

Re: My hopes and expectations for WFRP4 (repost)
Stat increases to Toughness were more rare in 2nd Edition.
Also, the change to D10 combined with the fact that you could keep rolling for damage on the roll of a 10 limited the Naked Dwarf Syndrome somewhat.

Re: Combat example
Yeah, I'm aware of the issues the system has. I think it's an interesting concept to allow people to remain in the same career basically forever by having no maximum level to skills and stats, but any skill over 60 becomes quite hard to counter by your average opponent. That being said, with critica...

Re: Combat example
I agree that 1st ed had it´s own problems with balance once your players got past a Toughness of 5 (although personally I have never seen a dwarf player be able to withstand scores of beastmen). But those were a thing of the past in 2nd and 3rd edition. The Slaugther margin in 2nd ed was (in my exp...
