Re: The Beast Form spell

The biggest grey area is that it requires GM fiat to decide which Skills and Talents are commonsense to use. Which, if you're expecting a rule for every situation, might not be what you expected (especially as 4e often does give a rule for every situation). It not that, I can work with grey, I can ...

Re: The Beast Form spell

*Sight* I guess I was wrong.

Damn the more I run this system the less polished it feels, I may have to revert back to 2nd or house rule the hell out of it.

Re: The Beast Form spell

I think this is the core of our disagreement: I think we should also bear in mind that Beast Form isn't for some NPC mook. It's a PC in altered form. You don't want to make PCs-as-mooks, you want to make PCs-as-cool-monsters. I mean, you could make them into mooks, but I think that might be quite di...

Re: The Beast Form spell

Adam nice work! sorry I was a bit harsh I really wanted to open up this conversation and get some feedback and nothing gets people more motivated than being told on forums absolutes or that they are wrong :D I agree with many of your statement here, the Bestiary is meant to represent the average joe...

Re: The Beast Form spell

All Creatures in the Bestiary have baseline/starting stats, so you're not supposed to use them as is. You're supposed to add Traits and Careers to them to tailor them to your table. So no, you don't just get the plain profile from the back of the book with some Characteristics swapped in. Sorry tha...

Re: The Beast Form spell

Keep in mind your not a shape shifter, this is a spell and when you cast this on your self you are changing into something else, there are allowances made for basic mental acuity but a bear is still a bear even if he is a little smarter. (in DnD terms, Polymorph and not Shape change) 1. Beast don't ...

Endeavours Talent

Page 199 Unusual Learning It is one thing to pick up a Skill that can be readily practised, quite another to learn something for which one may have no aptitude at all. This Endeavour allows you to attempt to learn a Talent outside of your Career. There is no guarantee this attempt will be successful...

Fear vs Terror

I cant find anything about this in the rules but what happens if a Fear 1 creature meets a Terror 2 creature? previous editions had subtraction mechanics > Fear vs Terror = non vs Fear. I know the size rule covers most of these cases, but there are other factors that generate Fear and Terror without...

Re: Fan made?

This is getting a bit off track, I thank you for the fan made elemental stuff, it will help a lot. I only mentioned elementals as an example, the are others like Dryad, Treemen and Greater eagles As WFRP 4e GM, my toolbox is pretty empty, when I want to pull out various encounters for my player I se...

Fan made?

Hi as GM I need a bigger toolbox. I'm not exactly sure what the rules are about this but I was wondering if there was any fan made material available? Currently I'm running a campaign using my adventures and I am running into the problem that a lot of the basic stuff that exist in almost every fanta...
