Thanks! I'm running it in the New Year so I'll be writing up proper GM notes - locations, NPCs, etc - closer to the time. These are just proof of concept notes

Who would have thought having a baby and moving house would be so disruptive? Apparently not this guy! These are my ongoing Bretonnia/Kenya notes for CoC MoN into WFRP.

Re: Converting Masks of Nyarlathotep for WFRP

Part 5 of my adaptation of Masks of Nyarlathotep into WFRP's Old World. This time, Marienburg/Cairo! Another tough week, but I got there! I'm starting to see some areas that I might change in the final version. For example, compared with Call of Cthulhu I can see how Warhammer Battle the magic is n...

Re: Converting Masks of Nyarlathotep for WFRP

Part 4 of my adaptation of Mask of Nyarlathotep into WFRP's Old World. This time, Altdorf/London ! A busy work week and a demanding three-month-old baby made this one more difficult to finish on time and to the same degree of detail as the others, but I'll flesh it out further when I write the prope...

Re: Advice for getting the WFRP tone right for scenarios?

I'm not sure about "Adventures take place in the shadows" While some (possibly even the majority) do, there are some that by necessity are either not in the Shadows or involve major characters supplanting each other and therefore definitionally "not in the shadows". The list isn...

Re: Advice for getting the WFRP tone right for scenarios?

...What characteristics of the cultural milieu stand out from these tweets? I would point to: Dystopianism Moral ambiguity Horror and violence British history (eg historic monuments and buildings, the Second World War, colonialism) British folklore... Yes, exactly. This sort of thing. And I'm comin...

Re: Converting Masks of Nyarlathotep for WFRP

I'm currently playing Masks in a Call of Cthulhu campaign, so I daren't do more than scan what you've shared. But I really like your choice of locations - much more interesting than translating literally from real world to Warhammer analogues. Thank you! But don't you dare read any more or I'll hav...

Converting Masks of Nyarlathotep for WFRP

https://imperiousrexhome.files.wordpress.com/2021/09/masks1.jpg I must be mad. Others have reskinned Masks for WFRP, but this one is mine. Here’s the first part, which gives the background. I’ll eventually be posting handouts and GM notes as well, closer to Christmas. Setting is 1st/4th edition err...

Advice for getting the WFRP tone right for scenarios?

https://www.theorderofchaosgamers.com/uploads/6/5/1/5/65153371/4134929_orig.png I think it’s safe to assume we all know a WFRP scenario from a D&D one when we see it. WFRP, especially 1st Ed, has a certain tone and humour. Has anyone ever written any advice for creating WFRP scenarios that will...

Speaking with and summoning the dead

https://prod-upp-image-read.ft.com/03ae3f86-457b-11e9-b168-96a37d002cd3 I’m writing a campaign where it would be useful for a powerful NPC to be able to summon and compel a ghost for their specialist knowledge. I’ve tried searching through the different editions and supplements I have, but I can on...
