Musings of a Black Cowl

Hello all,

I’ve returned to the grim-and-perilous-sphere when I finally began running The Enemy Within—the Fantasy Flight one, not the one that'd be easy to run —using the 4th edition rules. Adjusting this campaign to 4e requires a fair amount of conversion work, and to keep track of the process ...

Missing Averheim Map

Hey all,

Some time ago, I had a high-resolution, full-colour map of Averheim stored on an external hard drive that has since failed. Unfortunately, I no longer have access to the file and have been unable to locate the same map online.

To clarify, it was not either of the following:

Map-City ...

That's the other mutant who pops up in Book 2. Vargr Breughel is the dwarf and is the one who they name the new theatre after.

Re: Eureka! 4E conversion

Originally I was going to use Crimson Rain as the basis for a mini-campaign but it didn't take off in terms of players, so the answer is..

At some point yes, though making these modules takes a lot of time and sometimes money for the various softwares.

Re: New Campaign! 'Anarchy in Averland'

Not a bad name. I wonder if C7 will repackage TEW3E as a 4e campaign. Itd be relatively easy and could be accompanied with an Averheim sourcebook.

Re: Official WFRP module for Foundry VTT released!

Certainly not official or paid-for, but I've redone my Night of Blood module for the latest version of Foundry.

Re: Eye for an Eye 4E conversion

Glad you enjoyed this. It was a lot of fun to make and to play through. Weirdly Edge of Night has an entire chapter that is not included in Lords of Ubersreik which ties into the Vermintide computer games (or more likely they tied into it). Speaking of which, Grunewald Lodge also appears in both ...

And a magic book, and some other stuff, including possibly Gav Thorpe writing some kinda non-Empirey seafaring Elf/Marienburg/Ulthuan/epic voyage.

Some day.

Re: Death on the Reik Update

To say it's an update of Carrion Up the Reik is not really accurate. The plot of 4e's Carrion Up the Reik is basically:-

The PCs encounter 3 Monks of Sigmar, including Brother Marcus from the original Carrion, who join them on their way to Altdorf again. While they are on the boat they are ...

Re: Death on the Reik Update

It's a few elements of Carrion up the Reik reworked into an overly scripted sidequest. Bit disappointing really.

Re: NergalCon

I enjoyed this very much - the only issue we had is that Rangdo is a heretic who uses a Mac and worse, Safari. This non-conformist found Foundry VTT didn't work correctly for him. Didn't prove to be too much of an issue though. :D

Re: Mirror of Desire 4E conversion

Well, yes & no, but since I doubt C7 will put them in the official numbering, I did it as technically they came out first.

I started my playthrough on the podcast with Eye for an Eye. I'll probably finish it with Mirror as it might end up with PCs being ennobled, getting the mansion etc.

Though ...

Re: Mirror of Desire 4E conversion

Well, it was more the layout, updating it to work with Starter Set locations and writing the 4th Chapter, providing the maps and rewriting sections of it kept me off the streets for a few months, but yeah, ok "medium-biggish undertaking".

"massive undertaking" -most of that adventure is rules ...

Re: Bundle of holding, why without Doomstones 5?

I assume its simply because C7 haven't released it as a pdf yet. Can't say I'm impressed with Heart of Chaos myself, I could imagine my players throwing a hissyfit at the ending.

Does anyone know, why Doomstones 5 is not included in the WFRP 1 bundle of holding?
