Re: Mutation and Ableism

After Storm of Chaos people would be less tolerant for mutations even if it not even conected to Chaos but there are reasons for that. Its a matter of perspective how dark You want Your world to be. Would the average Imperial citizen even be able to recognise the difference between a congenital dis...

Re: Elven Vampires

You mean something like in ancient days a crazed magic using elf tried a ritual or experimental high magic that got away from him, and he turned into something vaguely vampiric? Sounds plausible, for the setting. Isn't "a ritual with experimental high magic that got away from him" exactly...

Re: Sillyhammer

Here's a verse of parody that I came up with. Maybe some bard might perform it in a seedy tavern somewhere... This is to the tune of Maxwell's Silver Hammer by the Beatles. Kurgan Ironbeard, dwarf by orc and goblin feared Fought the greenskin horde. But the dwarfen lord was then captured, oh, oh-oh,...

Re: Is Imperial polytheism realistic?

i want to just lean over and point out that the sigmarite/ulrikan schism is entirely because the sigmarite church insists that sigmar is The god now and the other gods of the empire are subservient to him Which is pretty much the same thing that the pharaoh Akhenaton said about Aton. https://www.br...

Re: Is Imperial polytheism realistic?

we do not have many examples of real societies that would be as technologically and culturally advanced as the Empire and practice polytheism in some of its major variants, so the question of realism might be invalid from the very start. What about the society that gave us the word "Empire&quo...

Re: Mainstream Media Inspirations

The old Sierra adventure games may not exactly be mainstream, but I'd suggest them anyway. The Quest for Glory series seems like pretty good inspiration for Warhammer to me. You could easily transplant the first game into an Imperial province, and the fourth game into Kislev. The second and third ga...

Re: Any canon examples of characters using both might and magic?

The closest thing to a character who can use both might and magic is probably Teclis (https://warhammerfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Teclis), and even then it's more of a case of "using either might or magic." He has potions that can make him a powerful fighter at the expense of his magic, or a ...

Why would it be less enjoyable for other players? I would think it would be a good roleplaying opportunity.

Post-TEW plans

I heard some interesting tidbits at Gencon about what C7 had planned for after The Enemy Within is done.

After taking the PCs all over the Empire for TEW, the next big campaign will take them to Marienburg, then to Albion, and then to the New World.

Re: WFRP 4 analysis

So for a starting human to catch up to staring elf in WS would be 10 increases (elves start with 2d10 +30 compared to 2d10 +20 for humans). That would cost the human 275 XP. But when the game starts the elf would still pay 25 XP for his first increase where as the human would pay 40 XP. So essentia...

Re: WFRP 4 analysis

Dwarves/Elves being so much better than Humans/Halflings. I don't want to have effectively level three characters in my level one party.
In what edition of WFRP was that not the case?

Julie d'Aubigny

I saw a video about a French woman named Julie d'Aubigny that I think could be good inspiration for some pretty wild adventures, and I thought I'd share it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6QaBYLAOaSY I could see something like this happening in Estalia, perhaps. Louen Leoncoeur would have to be muc...

I wonder if the Code Duello (or Lin Manuel's summary thereof in Hamilton, "The Ten Duel Commandments") might be a useful source for how to settle grudges. Not that dwarfs would use guns, I'm sure...

Re: Grudges!

That's an interesting idea. If Dwarf B runs off to help Dwarf C, and Dwarf A has a grudge against B for cowardice, would C then have a grudge against A as a result of A dishonoring B?

And do the dwarfs have a court of law where all of these grudges can be aired and settled nonviolently?
