Re: Heresy Unleashed: Have AoS Battletomes something to offer?

So I took a look, they are definitely not elf souls. There are some references to the "protectors" of the mythic past aka the old world, but those are just half remembered things and legends (like how the old protectors used to rally around cloth banners).

Re: Heresy Unleashed: Have AoS Battletomes something to offer?

Full disclosure, I've only flipped through the Sylvaneth Battletome briefly and that is the limit of my experience with them. I think they will be supremely useful if/when C7 gets around to publishing the Age of Sigmar RPG. What I saw was really useful for helping to set the tone both for the charac...

Re: Town garrison/militia, and WFB

I would not use WFB directly for any large scale battles other than as a narrative description of how units move or behave on the battlefield. Mechanically, it is irrelevant. Narratively, it should be decided by A) Where the GM wants the story to go B) the quality of the preparations the players hav...

Re: App Recommendations?

I use laminated 3x5 cards, once they are laminated you can use dry erase markers to easily write/rewrite notes and wounds taken and such.

Thanks for the clarifications! I have a better idea of where you're coming from now. I really look forward to seeing how you integrate that into WFRP!

Re: Wanna help me design my next WFPR campaign? (edition agnostic)

One of my main sources of inspiration is using episodes of The Twilight Zone (the old Rod Serling version). Given your preferences listed above, I would suggest you go check out the episode "Will the real Martian please stand up?" I think it could work really really well as one of the parts of your ...

Re: Miracles of Solkan

I like that version of Commination a lot more. Powerful, evocative, thematic and easily understood by all parties. I can't wait to hear a story or two about how it went in-game!

Re: Miracles of Solkan

Overall, not bad. I like the re-use of other abilities (Soulfire/Unblemished Innocence/etc). My only real concerns are with A) Commination (did you mean Condemnation?) seems a little OP, I might change it to say that the flames can be extinguished with another spell or by dousing with holy water or ...

Re: Lizardmen in WFRP2

I think by virtue of the fact that most adventures happen within the confines of the Empire/Bretonnia and perhaps pushing into Kislev, Lizardmen would be exceedingly rare even to see another one in an inn just because they have so little reason to be there. I often wonder what it would be like if a ...

Re: StS is no more

StS passing is a sad event, I had been a member there for 10 years and had a great many wonderful conversations (with most of you) there.

But the fact that a significant number of people from StS seem to have made their way here is what makes it bearable. StS is no more. Long live WindsOfChaos!

Re: Crossover idea between Warhammer and the Iron Kingdoms

Rather than come from the East, could you reflavor the Skorne to be a faction from what we would call west africa (Morocco, Ivory Coast, Guinea, Liberia, Mauritania, Mali, etc) who have been displaced from the south moving into the old world via Gibraltar/Estalia and Tilea?

Re: Crossover idea between Warhammer and the Iron Kingdoms

Coming into the Border Princes is fine. But you could probably get away with just saying that Malekith got usurped by a new radical Khaine/Slaanesh hybrid faction that played off of the normal politics between the usual Khaine/Slaanesh parties and replace the Dark Elves with a new faction of Skorne ...

Re: Nods to old material in 4e

Indeed. I liked some of the names which were references to past adventures/campaigns. Alphonse Hercules de Gascoigne (Investigator) Under Boatman, the first quote is from Travis Binckel, Rivertaxi, a likely reference to Travis Bickle, Robert De Niro's character in the movie Taxi Driver. The Riverwom...

Re: Scenario contest?

Exactly, just leave out the stats and specific rules and add a note for the reader of the scenario that something should be a hard encounter or an easy encounter, and then let the prospective GM insert something appropriate for his party. One caveat is that specific or special rules should be includ...

Re: 2nd ed. Opinions on home rules

One, I would encourage you to look at changing Initiative from 1d10+Ag to 1d10+Agility Bonus (Agility Bonus being the 10's digit of an Agility Score, like Strength Bonus or Toughness Bonus) . It does a great job of making things a bit more varied instead of turning your Agile characters into "Parry ...
