I think I meant Aiming, but you are absolutely correct.

Re: Putting Dex back into 2nd ed
First off, you need to define what is Dex vs what is Ag. Perhaps Dex is "fine motor skills" whereas Ag is more "gross body movement". Secondly, you're going to need to re-categorize what skills fall under which attribute. For example, does the RangedCombat skill now require Dex i...

Re: PC participation in mass combat
I'll flesh this out a bit later if needed. KotL, have you checked out Ben Scerri's Tides of War fan-supplement? Even if you don't use it verbatim, his list of Moments of Heroism is VERY handy. This is heavily drawn from my years of experience playing WFB, but here goes. Definitions: A troop or soldi...

Re: Stevedore - Dirty Fighting but no Melee (Brawling)?
Is it odd that Stevedore's don't get access to Melee(Brawling) as a career skill? Yes.
But given the Non-Career Advances box at the top of page 48, I don't see what the big hang up is.

Re: Surprised opponents take less damage
Here's how my group has handled that problem:
Since the surprised character cannot defend themselves, the attacking player still rolls but gets a minimum of +0 SL. I like Robin's solution a bit better, as it allows for the defender's suprised reaction to be a negative hindrance.

Re: The Red King
the "White snake" line stands out. i've heard something like it somewhere before but hell if i remember where. In the famous words of Father Wilhelm Abgott, "So come the midnight hour, we cry MORR! MORR! MORR!" (WFRP 4e Core book, Page 58). To which we now add David Tal Bedecken...

Re: The Red King
I don't speak italian, but it certainly doesn't sound like anything I've read in any official book (at least not verbatim). I would share Orin J's guess that there's a clever turn of phrase that's not coming through the translation (Red Rose?) or it could be a homebrew campaign clue.

I was unaware of any revision like you mention. I think the closest I know of is Defenders of the Forest, a pdf describing wood elves in general, maybe that helps?

Re: Pirates of the Reik
In my Old World, River Pirates use canoes and grappling hooks. They dart out, do the looting, then scoot off back to land. River Wardens are only really useful for rescuing wrecks, rendering aid, imposing/collecting taxes, and keeping the river depth clear for merchant ships to pass safely. Unless t...

Re: Travel prices?
In my mind, I really just wanted something quick and easy, the cost I mentioned above covered everything and reflected the quality of the coach, etc. If you wanted to add another layer you certainly could IE, traveling by foot is social tier plus one coin. By boat is plus 2 coins. By coach is plus 3...

Re: Travel prices?
There are times my players want to roleplay each day of journey. When that happens, calculating costs is somewhat easy because you're roleplaying each stop at an Inn. Sometimes, my players just want to get from point A to point B and only get stopped when they encounter a significant event. When tha...

Re: Why I think combat is less exciting in v4
In v2, every attack roll was exciting because every roll counts, all players are watching when you roll, and everyone knows exactly what your chances are: when I have WS 35, everyone watching knows my chances, and cheers when I roll 25 and hit the enemy; same when I roll +35 and fail to hit. .... E...

Glorthindel, really good distinctions between Perception/Intuition. I'll start incorporating them as well.

A. Institutionally, they are located in Altdorf, but they have other satellite outposts in Middenheim (and elsewhere) to take in Apprentices and at least prevent them from killing themselves (or getting lynched). One appropriate analogy would be foreign colonies. London has always been the seat of t...

Re: Investigations
Given that it's a "critical path" to the adventure, I would communicate to the players and then require that they be specific about where they're looking. Just walking into the room and saying "I want to look around" would only reveal what is out in the open. Alternatively, as a ...
