Re: WFRP Social Justice & Representation
Sigmar's Justice & Peace Warriors The teaching of Sigmar's Justice & Peace Warriors (or SJPW) comes from the teachings of a heretical sect that originated in the cursed city of Mordheim in the mid-1990s. It's leader, Sister Sigrid Knauer, was a firebrand preacher whose heresies were denounce...

Re: WFRP Social Justice & Representation
Yeah, that could work. I’m pretty sure the Cult of Solkan were mainly intended as a send-up of the lunatic fringe of the Christian Right, but they’d work just as well as Progressives. Claus Glinka’s moral crusade from the Genevieve novels could be another good option. There's a rather interesting G...

Re: WFRP Social Justice & Representation
Again, Herr Arnulfe, you're using fairly aggressive language to suggest that leftists (which I assume you identify with) have immutable characteristics that make them superior. In this case it is moral superiority, and a feeling of moral superiority, as we know, leads to justification of some pretty...

Re: WFRP Social Justice & Representation
Labelling leftists as more sensitive sounds like the kind of generalization and discrimination that social justice supposedly stands against.
The Vistani/Strigany/Gypsy cliche is a stereotype.
Leftists are sensitive and make better artists is a stereotype.

Re: WFRP Social Justice & Representation
Yes, I've been following the D&D debate a little and have to admit I was surprised Ravenloft getting a rewrite (that ironically has put me off buying the deluxe boxed set they've released). I was surprised that "classic" D&D settings are now considered racist, I only own 1 D&D ...

Nope, but if I'm lumped in with him, alt-left it is.

Re: WFRP Social Justice & Representation
In a show of solidarity many halfling farmers are refusing to use the pitchfork as part of their farming routines. Seeking less offensive alternatives that are culturally sensitive the halflings have even gone to the extent of bringing in a wizard from the coast as a sensitivity specialist before th...

Re: WFRP Social Justice & Representation
I don't identify as right-wing though. More anarcho-snarky with liberal tendencies.
Herr Arnulfe wrote: ↑Thu Jul 30, 2020 4:50 am Brilliant! Mind if I compile this and post it to the WFRP Gamemasters group on FB as an example of right wing social commentary? With proper credit of course.

Re: WFRP Social Justice & Representation
I was dealing with a far larger issue... GW scale creep on their miniatures. 28mm shouldn't be a problem for a cake.
Herr Arnulfe wrote: ↑Thu Jul 30, 2020 4:37 am You guys should write this up and put it out there. I bet the WFRP community would be really impressed with your clever take on trans issues.

After the Mootland Games 'Arry aka Smiley Happyfeet is to marry Luddy "the Muscles from Auerswald" Lowhaven. This has caused controversy. Former cake-master chef and now TERMite leader Jaques Murrington refused to make the cake, citing the proposed 28mm scale replica fudge ogre groom ornam...

Halfling poet Davfire Radclin, who became famous as a child by reciting Jakey Rolling's poetry has turned on him, publicly denouncing him as a narrow-minded bigot at the start of the annual Mootland Games. Of course Davfire is preparing for his greatest challenge, taking on og... sorry... halfling '...

Re: WFRP Social Justice & Representation
If anything that kind of humorous scenario hook can make some lovely 2020 commentary on the controversies facing cis-female athletes. Just the kind of "thought provoking" content I'm sure everyone will welcome. "'Arry might be 7 ft. tall and built like a small watch tower, but we foun...

Re: WFRP Social Justice & Representation
Heroes in the sense you can have them as a model, but certainly not in the Pure of Heart Hero. The fiction books etc. have always portrayed them as the necessary evil etc.

Re: WFRP Social Justice & Representation
I've been playing a lot of Vermintide in lockdown and I would describe the Witch Hunter character as definitely the anti-hero, and he gets a fair amount of disdain off the other PCs (often in my view unfairly). He also seems to think he's the main character/leader, which he isn't. :D I actually like...

Re: WFRP Social Justice & Representation
I suppose the last bit is good if you want to make the point that transgender rights are wrong and ridiculous. But that sounds an awful lot like "involving modern gender politics" to me. Well, it is a thread about that Theo. But that is what those individual GMs and writers add to the set...

Re: WFRP Social Justice & Representation
I'm a big fan of playing games for the sake of it and keeping my political inclinations out of it (which is easy, I have disdain for all spectrums of the UK political spectrum). I'm not particularly interested in involving modern gender politics in my game, as it's not something that really interest...
