Re: Critical hits and fumbles
I used to do this way back in the day, and it pretty much works fine in play.

Re: Roadwardens and pistols
It may be worth bearing in mind that the Pistol is not even the most expensive trapping the roadwarden requires, the Light warhorse is worth far more.

Re: Rights to previous editions?
Other materials written by other authors might be off limits without explicitly getting the authors' permission. I'm not sure how copyright law works in these situations though. (e.g., 'Lure of Power' credits writing and development to Owen Barnes, Daniel Lovat Clark, Chris Gerber, Andrew Hoare and...

Re: Rights to previous editions?
Nothing of 3rd edition has been released as a pdf though, has it? I did not even think to check for third tbh. I suppose the problem is the core rules are so dependent on bits and special dice etc. that printing it would probably be a pain. And I can see why they would not be comfortable printing s...

Re: Rights to previous editions?
Looking at DriveThru, they have 12 1st edition pdfs and 25 2nd edition.
The big missing ones seem to be Apocrypha Two (they only uploaded one last November so its probably coming), Dwarves: Stone and Steel, and the last Doomstones books.

I think part of it was probably to make them more distinct from outriders, who are in a very similar niche.
Of course given the WFB Outriders, it probably would have made more sense the other way around.

Re: Enemy In Shadows Companion Available
I've had a quick flick through of the companion and i'm quite pleased by what i've seen, not least the choice to keep things as they were originally intended or written (in at least one case) rather than keep up with some other more recent version of the Warhammer Fantasy universe. I think it bodes...

Re: Comparison with Zweihander
It's not like the Warhammer universe is really that original to begin with. It's packed to the brim with other works with the serial numbers were filed off.

Re: Organised crime in Altdorf
The hooks and fish also made an appearance in an early novel, Beasts in Velvet. A murder mystery, all the while a cult affiliated agitator does his thing, the hooks and fish are at war with each other. I don't recall there being enough gang stuff in it to warrant a read for research purposes. Good ...

Re: Thousand Thrones
What do you learned gentlemen think? Adding Johann Esmer to the mix increases the epicness of the campaign (the plot of the Two Theogonists was never taken up post-Storm of Chaos) by having a Grand Theogonist involved with the Crusade. I think that would be a good idea. My main issue with TTT is th...

Re: Questions about Rough Night at the Three Feathers
That said having the Champion be the weediest party member presents amusing possibilities. "Me? Fight a duel? A gong farmer? Why didn't you choose Theo the Pit Fighter here?" "DO NOT QUESTION THE GRAVINE!" Oh yes, and then you could see that being passed over for the Gong Farmer...

Re: Questions about Rough Night at the Three Feathers
The problem with answering that is character's can be so widely different with regard to careers tat nay answer is pretty much meaningless. I think ideal you need at least one character who has been through a obvious combat career to be the replacement champion. If you only had two PCs I would proba...

Re: Questions about Rough Night at the Three Feathers
I put the guards between room d and the empty e; but I had them retire at 10 along with everyone else. I think this is how it is intended as when the attempted horsewhipping occurs at 11:30 all the Gravin's men are unarmed and unarmoured.

Certainly that confused me to the point i had to go away and read the rules again.
Also if I could give you a medal for the post explaining this, I would.

"A rare few Skaven dabble in Necromancy and fewer still abandon the ways of their people to embrace another Chaos God." - Children of the Horned Rat
So there is no reason you can't have a Skaven Necromancer, but he would probably be hunted by the Grey Seers.
