Re: WFRP Social Justice & Representation
With the social justice movements of recent years (e.g. LGBTQ, MeToo, BLM etc.) where do you feel WFRP stands (or should stand) in terms of representation? Are you open to WFRP re-balancing racial and gender roles as Age of Sigmar did? How far should WFRP stray from medieval demographic simulation?...

I'm happy to join in and play - I have Discord on my computer. I won't be able to run anything though.

I'd definitely recommend the film 'Midsommar', which I watched this week on Amazon Prime. Old Faith followers will never seem the same again...

Re: TOBCON IV
Because of the lockdown issues over the Coronavirus, Shadowcon has been cancelled (or more accurately, will run online). As our venue has vanished, I'm afraid that Tobcon IV shall be delayed until next year. If anyone wishes to run an alternative WFRP con online over that weekend, be my guest - it w...

Re: Beyond The Enemy Within campaign, upcoming releases
I'm still surprised that they haven't updated and published any of the 2nd or 3rd edition scenarios - it all seems to be old 1st edition stuff. Is there a reason for that?

'Crimson Rain' question
SPOILER WARNING: Am I right that any kind of Ulrican PC will quite likely gain so many 'bloodthirsty' advances on the tracker, that they will likely fall to Khorne without even being allowed a test? I fear that Sigmar himself would do so! Personally I think this is a flaw in the scenario and intend ...

Re: Cathay sourcebook?
I see that Grim and Perilous Studios have pulled out of publishing Tetsubo : https://grimandperilous.com/tetsubo-licensing-to-end-with-grim-will-not-be-renewed/ Some of the reasoning sounds a little odd. How exactly is it deemed a product of it's time, I wonder? Some cultural sensibilities being off...

Re: Nurgle cults - what defines them?
I remember having a conversation with Theo at a previous TOBCON about the problems I had imaging why anyone would worship Nurgle. He made the interesting point that the fiction depicts followers and demons of Nurgle in an often joyous state - frolicking about in Grandfather Nurgle's garden. There is...

Re: Combat example
I've been playing WFRP since it first came out in 1986, through all editions, and I quite like this most recent one. I've been playing in a campaign for over a year with numerous combats and not found anything broken in the system.

Re: Rights to previous editions?
Nothing of 3rd edition has been released as a pdf though, has it? It was also the first stuff to start getting converted - such as part of 'Edge of Night'. I guess this could be because Cubicle 7 have largely followed FFG in fleshing out Ubersreik as a base for PCs. Has the section on Ubersreik nobi...

Rights to previous editions?
Am I right that Cubicle 7 have the publishing rights to all the WFRP material ever published by Hogshead, GW, Green Ronin and FFG? I see that they've adapted a bit of 3rd edition stuff but I'm surprised they haven't just released on pdf other stuff that FFG (and others) designed. Is there a reason f...

TOBCON IV
It's still seven months away, but I wanted to announce that TOBCON IV will be taking place at Northfield community centre in London this August Bank Holiday weekend (Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th). Attendees are always a mix of regulars and newcomers, so all are welcome. The event involves playing i...

Re: Comparison with Zweihander
I found the wound mechanics in Zweihander completely incomprehensible, I'm afraid. I did like the mechanics to travelling a long distance, as I recall, having played it twice in scenarios at a previous TOBCON.
I much prefer 4th edition WFRP.

End Times: Nagash - the 'Ugly'
1. Pegasus droppings - I wish I'd thought of this in my own Bretonnian campsign. A flyover of Pegasus knights could make quite the unintended impression on watchers below! 2. Brass Keep - I quite like the way that during the End Times incursion, some completely wacky things happen out of nowhere. Th...

End Times: Nagash - The 'Bad'
1. Endless Quest Items - to raise Nagash from the dead you require his three magic staffs. Oh, make sure you get hold of his magic crown and his withered hand. Err... I think you also need his magic armour. Ah , I almost forgot - you'll also need his nine magic tomes. Got that? 2. A Terrible Plan - ...

End Times: Nagash - the 'Good'
SPOILER ALERT: The Return of Nagash novel Given that it chronicles the extinction of the Warhammer world we all know and love - 'the world that was' as GW term it now - there has long seemed litle point reading the End Times stories, as the events in them will not come to fruition in most WFRP games...

Re: Starter Set Advice: Are Trolls Really THAT Scary?
I'd have thought that 'killing' a foe can also be mitigated by the loss of a fate point instead - that's usually the case in Warhammer. Fate points are like gold dust, so the loss of one for a PC is hardly negligible.

Re: Tobcon 3 - report
For the first time, it wasn't a lack of GMs to run games that was presenting challenges to me as the organiser of the con, but a smaller number of players than I had expected. This was due to several regular attendees not being able to make it for various reasons, so I was forced to think on my feet...

Re: Tobcon 3
OK, here's the final timetable with players allocated. As you can see, this year we have a few players lacking at this stage after some dropouts. We could certainly use two or three more each day - Rich Murkin is only a possible for Sunday. If you know anyone who wants to come, do get them to drop m...

Re: Tobcon 3
I'll post the timetable with everyone's allocated games this weekend. Just a quick note to say that after a couple of players dropped out, we have a couple of spare slots - if anyone has a friend who wants to come, do let me know asap.
