Re: unbalanced races
My group has been using Initiative as 1d10+Initiative Bonus (rather than 1d10+ full initiative) even since back when we were using 2e. You may find that helpful.

Re: unbalanced races
I think this is one situation where 'Mathhammer' and real table experience may yield different results, and would also encourage you to try it out in a game.

Re: Dogs of War: WFRP Weapons vs WFB Weapons
Warhammer Skirmish is basically WFB 6e with some of the unit mechanics taken away. But I already use those concepts (and from LotR SBG) for WFRP combat as it is, what I find lacking is large massed unit combat in 4e (and 2e, if I'm being honest) which neither game really delves into. What each lacks...

Re: Dogs of War: WFRP Weapons vs WFB Weapons
Correct about Flanking (which also provides +1 Combat Resolution. Rear charges give +2 and also break ranks).

Re: Dogs of War: WFRP Weapons vs WFB Weapons
Yes, wounds and excess wounds (up to +5) caused in a Duel count as points for Combat Resolution. Combat resolution is: Wounds Scored (including Wounds inflicted in a Duel) Unit Banner Battle Standard Rank Bonus And (a nice addition from 8th edition) +1 to the side that charged in that turn (if any)....

Re: Dogs of War: WFRP Weapons vs WFB Weapons
This is why I love posting my ideas here, because you all give me such good fodder to think about. A very sincere thank you to all of you. Braddoc, excellent ideas. Here's what I'm thinking right now, PCs in a unit would act as a second unit champion, and any combats with a PC would be resolved as a...

Re: Dogs of War: WFRP Weapons vs WFB Weapons
@makrellen That locks me into using WFB 2e or 3e rules which would be a huge step backwards in terms of playability (and also finding resources for my players). Great idea though. @FasterThanJesus I am familiar with Mighty Empires, but the flip side of the coin here is that WFRP characters have ~12 ...

Dogs of War: WFRP Weapons vs WFB Weapons
As I mentioned in a different thread, my next campaign is going to be a fusion of WFRP rules and WFB rules. At this point, I'm leaning towards WFRP 2e with Only War combat mechanics combined with WFB 7e rules. My current difficulty is how to move between the different weapon rules for the two rulese...

Re: Warhammer Old World, a.k.a. WFB returns.
1) I love the idea that we may see a return to the Old World, it keeps it alive. The more it stays alive, the more we'll continue to see continued, active investment in WFRP. 2) As a longtime model collector, hopefully this means that we'll continue to see new sculpts and new ideas for inspiration i...

Re: unbalanced races
@habdankm It sounds like your problem is not the stats, your problem is the players. Trying to use the rules to force your players to play nice with each other is like trying to drive a screw with a hammer. You're using the wrong tool to solve a different problem.

Re: unbalanced races
From a purely stat driven point of view, I don't think the races are supposed to be balanced. Elves and Dwarves in the WFRP setting *are* physically and mentally superior to humans. Emphasis on the word purely, because there are limiting factors that prevent them from taking over the world.

Re: Proof of ownership
If the horse panicked and fled, then it probably fled with it's saddle/tack/gear still on it. The saddle might have the PC's name inscribed on it (see the opening scene from the movie Silverado where Paden gets his horse back), if the finder of the horse doesn't have a chance to hide/remove the gear...

There were probably witnesses to the transaction, and that's why the buyer should insist on having them.

@totsuzenheni
I was unaware of that, so I greatly appreciate the information and have edited my post. How would you handle rewards for non-human PCs in the old 1e TEW?

Enemy Within Rewards for nonhumans.
As C7 starts to update and re-release The Enemy Within, my gaming group is planning on running the campaign since none of us have gone through it before. It is my understanding that by the end of The Enemy WIthin, the PCs have attained pretty high station within the Empire. Some could be the Emperor...

Re: 2nd portent of Amul ??
If the casting number is 6, and you rolled 10 SL, then for the purposes of "how many bonus fortune points do I get?" I believe you only get +4 SLs worth of bonus fortune according to @easl's post. Am I understanding that right?

Re: Death on the Reik: Getting PCs off the barge
Does the barge have a roofed section? Give 'em rain. If there are Coaching Inns dotted all over the Empire's major roadways, it's not unfathomable for there to be "River Inns" for toll keeping purposes or for boats that do not have sleeping space or cannot safely navigate at night (due to ...

Re: End Times: Nagash - The 'Bad'
Without knowing what you plan to put in the 'Ugly' category, I would also put the whole Malekith fiasco in this category as well. Malekith attempts to become the new Phoenix King, gets rejected in the Flame of Asuryan, and then leaves with his followers to go become the Dark Elves. In the End Times,...
