Re: Warhammer novels, and short stories
Finished Beasts in Velvet. It was a lot of fun, though the way it was written felt to me more like a B movie than a novel. Still, very entertaining! Well, it's a Jack the Ripper pastiche featuring a Dirty Harry knock-off, at least one parody of a 1980s British politician and a load of other referen...

Re: Warhammer novels, and short stories
I've just finished re-reading Beasts in Velvet and thoroughly enjoyed it (again). If I could make one complaint, it's that there's probably a few too many red herrings/potential suspects for The Beast. Also, the revelation at the end is incredibly dark and disturbing, even for Warhammer. That's not ...

Re: Warhammer novels, and short stories
Yeah, Ignorant Armies (as in the short story, not the anthology) was reprinted in Silver Nails along with the other Jack Yeovil short stories from various anthologies.

Re: Warhammer novels, and short stories
[Oops, I missed that there was a second page. This post was in response to totsuzenheni at the bottom of page 1.] Drachenfels and Genevieve Undead (the first short story collection). There's another short story collection, Silver Nails, but I don't know whether you'd need to read that before Beasts ...

Oh no, nothing like that. It's just a nice classic love story of four men all in love with the same woman, but with a suitably WFRP twist!
(Full disclosure, I haven't actually run it myself. But it looks fun in theory.)

Re: Warhammer novels, and short stories
Drachenfels and the follow-up stories by 'Jack Yeovil' are all great, even if the setting has changed a lot since they were written. The Gotrek and Felix novels (at least the ones by William King) are all varying degrees of good, with the first two being my personal favourites. The plot of Vampires...

That all sounds excellent! Good luck with it.
As for the WFRP3 scenarios, the Slaanesh one (Mirror of Desire) might suit your group. It's Chaos, but not in any of the traditional senses, and it's very much social-focussed.

That's more or less just what I had in mind, thanks. The only slight issue is it works fine for separate paragraphs, but doesn't really work for popping a spoiler into a sentence
E.g. Testing to see how work in the middle of a sentence.

Re: Wanna help me design my next WFPR campaign? (edition agnostic)
Karanthir : Thanks for the suggestions. I’m actually reading The Edge of Night as we speak, but although it does contain a whole lot of ticked boxes I just don’t care too much for the story. I love my man Graham Davis, but this story feels a little unimaginative and contrived… and box ticking’y. I ...

Re: Feedback
Would it be possible to get a spoiler tag? I never know how much I can/should say in threads where potential players of campaigns being discussed might be reading. (I mean, they could just read what's in the spoilered text anyway, but it's the thought that counts.)

Re: Wanna help me design my next WFPR campaign? (edition agnostic)
I do not want to do another Chaos-focused campaign as I’m currently running a Nurgle conspiracy story and have several chaos cult extravaganzas under my belt already (<-- now, ain’t that a sentence! :P ); The Enemy Within has sort of set a precedence in my group that I want to move away from. ... Re: Your opinion on Thousand Thrones and Restless Dead campaings
I've never run TTT myself, but I've read a lot of the discussion about it down the years (and listened to a live-play podcast). The general consensus seems to be that there are some good elements, some bad elements, and some middling elements. And one of the main issues is that the chapters were wri...

I really like the idea of doing something set in Mordheim (would be 3rd ed for me), so I'd definitely be interested in hearing what you've come up with.

Re: Scenario contest?
How about edition/rules-agnostic scenarios but say they have to be based on the adventure seeds in Adventures Afoot in the Reikland? That way it's tying into the new edition, but those of us who don't play it can still take part. Just a thought.

Re: Rough Nights & Hard Days
I can't say I'll be including Gnomes in my WFRP games, but if they want to write rules for them, whatever. I'm looking forward to the adventures anyway. Similarly, Demigryphs had never been in WFRP before, but there are rules for them, too. But this is going too far! Ignoring a WFRP3 campaign, and o...

Re: Fixes for Ashes of Middenheim
StS is still available (for now). This seemed like the most useful result of a quick search there (although I haven't read the thread, and it might depend on exactly what you want to fix): http://forum.strike-to-stun.net/viewtopic.php?t=1331 I haven't played the adventure, so unfortunately I can't o...
