Re: Is Imperial polytheism realistic?
I think the (first edition) pantheon could do with a rewrite, or fleshing out. A few thoughts: I wouldn't think of the pantheon we have (in the first edition) as in any way complete. There are gaps to fill everywhere. In relation to your points about Morrslieb in particular, though also more general...

Re: Selling cargo - SPOILERS (very minor)
Cubicle 7 have made a PDF of Hogshead's reprint/revision of Death on the Reik for first edition (including 'RIver Life of the Empire') available on DrivethruRPG, if you can't wait for the Companion to be released. 'RIver Life of the Empire' contains: RIver Navigation, Boat Critical Hits, Encounters,...

Re: WFRP Social Justice & Representation
One of the problems of conservative humour in a historical roleplaying game (and lots of similar contexts) is that it can age badly. What might seem like a topical commentary on one of this years battleground in he culture war, can look a bit reactionary a few years later. And seeing as we're still...

Re: WFRP Social Justice & Representation
Stuff taking the piss out of climate change activists in 2020 is gonna look extraordinarily foolish in 2055 (or even next week). Putting aside your choice to frame using the terms 'taking the piss' and 'conservative humour', maybe, maybe not. It might depend on what the joke is. I think it's more l...

I would agree with that, though at the same time i think that Karl Franz's motives and reasons can be morally ambiguous.Herr Arnulfe wrote: ↑Thu Jul 30, 2020 9:28 am In WFRP terms, Karl-Franz can be seduced to Chaos, without Chaos necessarily having to be morally ambiguous.

Re: WFRP Social Justice & Representation
I'm still waiting for someone to step up and explain where Le Passant was going with the Mussolini argument. Based on my fascism comments that he was responding to, I can only see two possible angles. I'm not reading back through Le Passant's posts, i don't want to write for Le Passant, and i don't...

Re: WFRP Social Justice & Representation
seems ideal for games about punching nazis and misogynists in the face modern WFRP should be telling stories about punching anti-maskers in the face because they're agents of Chaos perhaps the racists are secret Khornate cultists that you can uncover and punch in the face guilt-free. it's here to s...

Re: Barge rules
I just bought Death on the Reik, partly because I thought those rules would be there. I havn't found any and there doesn't seem to be any planned in the Companion either, as far as I can read. Was the 'RIver Life of the Empire' supplement in Cubicle 7's Death on the Reik for fourth edition? I seem ...

Re: Thought Experiment: EW with bad guy PCs
You seem to have divided the Empire into 'forces of Order' and 'forces of Chaos', of which i'd say (even in fourth edition) the majority of the Empire's populace, including the sample PCs given in the original TEW, do not belong to. Further, in so far as they exist, the 'forces of Order' (aka Solkan...

Re: Death on the Reik Update
Has much changed in Cubicle 7's edtion do you think? Incidentally, there was a entire paragraph repeated in the Hogshead edtion in that section on the Purple Hand. Overall very little has changed. The adventure layout, mentioned in the other thread on the topic, is different and IMO a big improveme...

Re: How double does the double need to be?
I'll quote mine DotR if you've not read it yet. BTW, apart from stupid mistakes that I've flagged up with the error reporter, and them not taking into inflation into account (also flagged), I still think it's an awesome adventure! I take it this is Cubicle 7's edition? Has much changed in Cubicle 7...

Re: How double does the double need to be?
Having just read through DotR, I'm pretty sure it implies, or even states, a close likeness and not a complete doppleganger. However, I have a memory like a seive due to a combination of alcohol and middle age, so may have misread. I'll see if I can spot it again. I took a look at The Cult Of The P...

Can i take it from what has been written above, that some people here don't think that rape (to take the example that's come up), implied or otherwise, should be a part of an RPG? Can i also take it from what has been written above, that some people here don't think that anyone should have 'negativ...
