Re: Karak Azgal

There's nothing keeping you from keeping the serious dungeon baddies "down" a few more levels and teasing them with enough gobbos/skaven/hints to level them up a bit first, which is the advantage of the fact it doesn't precisely map WHERE the event areas are. if you aren't sure, i'd say to...

Re: End Times: Nagash - The 'Bad'

in hindsight, the end times narrative confusion makes sense- orders from on high dictated what happened, not plot or game balance. Putting the results of the end times aside for the moment to consider the story in a vacuum- it's just not good. a child wouldn't find the story compelling and the most ...

Re: Does it mean "Human" or "Reiklander"?

It's specifically Rieklanders, but you should only need to change a few skills to get another culture's people. bretonnians and tileans wouldn't have doomed as a talent, for example.

Re: The logistics (and logic) of Castle Wittgenstein (

i'd say the easiest answer is that part of their servants are doing some smuggling in their part time- it's both lucrative and makes them not taking tolls a plausable alibi for them "we simply couldn't handle these crimes alone, we can only let them pass so they do not lash out at the peasants ...

Re: Major shake-up at Cubicle 7

they JUST handed the 40k rights to C7, and they have the age of spendmor stuff coming, so i don't doubt games workshop will extent the lisance for WFRP. that said at the rate things are going they might very well take so long getting TEW out the doors that they manage to screw up both of those lines...

Re: Major shake-up at Cubicle 7

If we don't TEWC this time around either then i will put forward a motion that we encourage Graeme et al to see if GW will let them crowdfund a TEWC directors bumper edition. I may be a tad bit too negative here, but i can't see GW ever even consider that. Tho my small dealings with GW are ancient ...

Re: High mage question

If an elf has two different schools of magic to draw from, he has to keep his spell lists separate. Meaning if you know Blast for jade magic and then you learned bright magic, you would have to learn Blast again to cast it with the bright magic effects. EDIT: Yes, this means paying the full costs fo...

Re: Major shake-up at Cubicle 7

It would be weird if they did say anything. The norm is for all parties to stay silent and move on. No matter what you say, people are going to be annoyed. As it is, people are annoyed, saying anything would just add fuel to the fire. a considerable amount of the writing, design development, overal...

Re: Major shake-up at Cubicle 7

cubicle 7 isn't good at conveying when their products are going to release, and that's how they turn a profit! i don't expect them to say anything at all about this unless they absolutely have to and hope nobody notices the shakeup in any major circles. and i admit, i haven't seen any clue most peop...

Still, there is room for non-teclitian elementalists and alchemists in Warhammer Fantasy! I am sure there is room. But they had better keep it down or the neighbors may call the collages, or witch hunters, on them. move to tilea you say? where they don't have witch hunters, and do have warm summers...

Re: Errata Update

If the following true, it is a deal-breaker for sure. "4ed combat suffers from the rule where bigger opponents are easier to damage. Example, +40 for griffin grants you an increased maximum of +4 because damage derives from success levels. This means, since an elephant is big, you gain a bonus...

they haven't announced any plans to update the hardcover in future printings, and i'd assume that's because they're not going to deal with editing it for print all over again.

Re: Starter Set Advice: Are Trolls Really THAT Scary?

Obviously Bestiary monsters are far too weak, mainly because their atrocious Weapon Skill scores. (In a game where heroes can achieve 60 or 70 in WS monsters need to do the same, and not because the GM decides to "tweak" the monster, but right out the gate) But this is a starter adventure...

Re: Halfling Size

I consider the doubling of damage something you'd do to hack your own WFRP. It is completely unworkable as a published product. it is a hack, actually! if you might recall the preorder's beta it didn't exist, the size difference gave smaller characters +10 to hit and dodge per level and didn't have...

Re: Halfling Size

But halflings are small so presumably average sized humanoids apply these rules to them? Page 341, the rule is pretty clear: "it multiplies any Damage caused by the number of steps larger it is (so, 2 steps=x2, ...." Humans are just 1 step larger than Halflings, so Damage x1, not double. ...

A useful little tool! two things: 1: i found a typo " writting kit " fiddling with the others option 2: the simple value system feels like it doesn't fit the documents. i'd consider leaving the value of anything under a crown or "badly forged" off (documents are something of a su...

Re: Halfling Size

Yes, the system as-written as very much intended for you to apply all those damage bonuses to halflings (but not goblins, who are the same height for some reason but are still medium) because they were very excited to have size rules and wanted them to be part of regular play. I just pushed them &qu...
