Re: Videos and Podcasts
Some trailers to the great Vermintide series. :) Primary for inspiration, mood setting and visualization. Look at a drawn Skaven on a picture is nice, but seeing them move about really brings them to life and helps, at least me, to see them as they act in my mind's eye during a game. You seem to ha...

Re: House rules
As as kind of carry over from the 40k RPGs we have a house rrule, used in all Warhammer systems, that hits to the head does double damage. Because getting hit in the head is not good and its wise to invest in a helmet, or was, in RL as far as I know. Hmm.... if damage is done then yes, it can get s...

Re: Solkan: Lawful God of Vengeance and Retribution
Just want to thank you for taking the time to write this material. I will confess that personally I am not interested in the Gods of Law concept but I can see the use of a Solkan as a minor deity regardless, in my take on the Warhammer setting. But who knows, with more good material coming out regar...

Re: Warhammer novels, and short stories
Are they proper nasty or the "good evil" kind? I took a quick look at the Lexicanum and, from a potential ignorant perspective, it seems to me that Malus is probably a pretty nasty piece of work, but it seems he's primary positioned in the Chaos Wastes and Chaos-influenced north and so pu...

Re: Warhammer novels, and short stories
I liked Darkblade when I was a teen, so take that as you will. Some of it is super edgy as you would expect, but some moments from the books still stick out to me to this date. Warpsword was my favourite of the Darkblade series, but the comics trump them entirely because of how filled with cheesey ...

Re: Warhammer novels, and short stories
Here's a question; are the books about Malus Darkblade any good? I know that Dan Abnett was involved with them and everything I've read so far by him have been good as far as I'm concerned. And do you think there could be hope that they would be released as part of the "Warhammer Chronicles&quo...

Interesting, I guess the only way to find out is to get hold of a copy and see where that leads me.

Re: Heresy Unleashed: Have AoS Battletomes something to offer?
Full disclosure, I've only flipped through the Sylvaneth Battletome briefly and that is the limit of my experience with them. I think they will be supremely useful if/when C7 gets around to publishing the Age of Sigmar RPG. What I saw was really useful for helping to set the tone both for the chara...

Heresy Unleashed: Have AoS Battletomes something to offer?
As many of us know the old army books, and other books, of the Warhammer Fantasy Battle game are becoming, in my experience, harder to get hold of, and I don't have a full library of them already :(, and for that reason I would ask if someone have an opinion on if the Battletomes of Age of Sigmar ha...

Re: Town garrison/militia, and WFB
If I were running a larger skirmish or battle - next time I see that coming up is when/if my players storm Castle Wittgenstein with the outlaws :) - I'll probably be using a more abstract mass-combat system. My favourite so far is GURPS Mass Combat - I've already done a conversion of it to my BRP-b...

Re: Town garrison/militia, and WFB
Have not heard of Field of Glory series. Have to check it out. Please do. Beyond its utility for simulating major battles in RPGs its a good game on its own. There's a "Field of Glory I" that can be downloaded or bought somewhere, even if I don't have it myself, and a "Field of Glory...

Re: Town garrison/militia, and WFB
Nah, if I would try to work a major battle then I would probably use the "Field of Glory II" computer game is make a resolution to the battle and see how it would turn out. The advantage is that the game is on the computer, so less work for me, while at the same time its turn-based and has...

Re: Warhammer novels, and short stories
You can get Mark of Damnation for £3 on Amazon ATM. Most Warhammer Fantasy novels are available there for a reasonable price. I agree with the Warhammer Chronicles thing though - it's a shame they're not doing more WF stories as their new horror range would be perfect for the Old World. It's a lot ...

Re: Warhammer novels, and short stories
I'm not sure Gotrek and Felix are in Doomstones. They're definitely more WFB than WFRP as the two tend to be more pulp untouchable heroes. They're slaying avatars of gods and are gifted immortality and useful magical items over and over. I always recommend James Wallis's Mark of Heresy and Mark of ...

Re: Crossover idea between Warhammer and the Iron Kingdoms
Thanks for the clarifications! I have a better idea of where you're coming from now. I really look forward to seeing how you integrate that into WFRP! You're welcome. :) I am also looking forward to this and is full of ideas. Time will tell how it goes, and I'll be happy to tell you guys about it.

Re: Warhammer novels, and short stories
I’ve been under the impression Gotrek and Felix were more Battle than WFRP. Could well be because I first saw them in an army book. actually they first showed up in the doomstones campaign (they turn up in whatever the one where they deal with the library/temple thing set in the cliffs is, i forget...
