Re: Strike to stun

Would Strong Back talent assist with the Str v Endurance test to see if the recipient of the blow to the head is stunned? Adds SL to an opposed STR test Strictly speaking, no. Reading the pummel quality the test is a strength/endurance contest, with the person getting bonked using their endurance a...

Re: Any chance of a Soulbound subforum?

they deftly dodged the question of what the scale for new minis will be like there- which has been my main concern. i mean, i know it's GW and they tend to be slightly less organized than the average summer pick-up tourney on these things but the longer they dance around on info the more grognardy i...

Re: Is Imperial polytheism realistic?

Here is a still very rough development and structuration of my previous thoughts...: this is just a much wordier description of the early 2000s 40K description of the warp. fantasy doesn't work that way, just by the fact that places of strong dark magic don't spontaneously let in daemons (because i...

Re: Is Imperial polytheism realistic?

okay. your argument for a lawful hashut amounts to "can we ignore they call hashut a chaos god and the chaos dwarfs chaos dwarfs?" and has no merit. regardless of how much you want to nitpick other people pointing out flaws in your position, you continue to have provided no merit to your a...

if i recall, their help desk is run by people as an additional duty rather than a dedicated service person, so delays should be expected.

Re: Is Imperial polytheism realistic?

as much as fract enjoys expounding on why he'd like to believe the chaos dwarf god could be lawful, i remain entirely unsupportive. there's nothing to his very long posts but extended arguments to consider his interest without any material to encourage it, and the chaos dwarfs are noted as having mu...

Re: Maximum SL bonus?

Yeah, and you only get the SL bonus if you *succeed* on your Test (i.e., roll under your modified Skill). Winning isn't enough. This is incorrect. Page 164, under the "Gaining Advantage" paragraph states you gain advantage if you win an opposed roll. It's entirely possible to fail the tes...

Re: Is Imperial polytheism realistic?

listen, the claims of "mass sacrifices" are based on the exaggerated claims of the spanish priests and are largely considered wildly inaccurate at best or falsified for justifying conquest at worst. which is my point, your arguing is revolving around something that hasn't actually consider...

Re: Is Imperial polytheism realistic?

i also believe this entire mental exercise about the aztec is kinda silly. People dont hate me but i think this entire conversation in silly and pointless. Having a fantasy game religion converted in real world? The Dungeons and Dragons have more common to every real religion and I would enter that...

Re: Is Imperial polytheism realistic?

i believe he's claiming that an aztec-like belief system would be presumed to be a chaos cult by the existing peoples of the empire and we have to admit they're not exactly the most reasonable and thoughtful country around.

i also believe this entire mental exercise about the aztec is kinda silly.

Re: NPCs with Luck Talent

fortune points (and the prerequisite fate points) have never been strictly "PC only" merely reserved for those capable of doing great things. obviously that includes the PCs, but it's always included notable NPCs too. what counts as "notable" has always been a matter for the GM t...

mark of chaos undivided is a thing, you've always been able to choose that for daemon princes (although it's always been a really sub-optimal choice).

Re: How do Stormcast Eternals buy new Sigmarite gear or have it issued?

i don't think the setting covers this, as they're more or less expected to keep what they're given unless they're moved into a new suit. i'd say go with the requisitioning idea you have already, with maybe pulling some GM favor by having them be "gifted" what they're hoping to ask for for ...

Re: WFRP x AOS Soulbound

not cleanly. WFRP is more "mud & blood" while the other one is more "wizard van art" about things. very hard to have the old grind in a setting where "a wizard fixed/caused everything, same as every week" is the norm.

Re: Maximum SL bonus?

Page 164 describes some ideas for limiting SLs by initiitve and such (this was a big deal in the beta testing and that option is the "fix") but you've made a mistake with the swordbreakers. You can't stack weapon qualities. All the other things are correct though.

To make it as clear as possible: if you have engaged in combat wish to be disengaged, you use a dodge roll against their melee. If you succeed you gain advantage and can move away, if you fail you are treated as Fleeing as per the flee rule following the disengaging rule if you move away. The rule d...

Best advice is to go to the subforum and read through the various topics there, a lot of stuff has been gone over in pretty good depth and it'll save you time figuring things out. aside from that the first things i can think of -Monster stats are incomplete: without skills and talents the monsters a...

Re: Aethyric Armour spell

It should be noted that because the spell provides AP, it is able to deflect a Critical Hit. And technically, there's nothing according to RAW that says the spell breaks, so it's total immunity to random Criticals while the spell lasts. it should Be noted that 1: the rules for critical deflection a...

Nah, skill tests do not provoke criticals (barring any homebrew the GM may add to the campaign). crits are strictly a combat thing.
