Re: Thousand Thrones
Indeed - though my thoughts were, what knock-on effects would this have. Helmut is a priest of Sigmar but in TTT he is not particularly senior in the clergy and does not have elite guards etc. that I imagine Esmer might have. I also think I need to brainstorm some more arcs for the Crusade that aren...

Re: Rough Nights & Hard Days
I thought January was optimistic, but July seems too far off for my liking as well. That said C7 haven't even opened pre-orders yet, much less given a list of what product we can expect this year.
I try to be patient, yes I do.

Re: The Words of the Law
I disagree the Law gods are dull. I had an adventure 75% finished about an undead (or rather Law equivalent of undead) follower of Alluminas going round kidnapping and placing innocents in his stasis chamber to preserve their innocence for all eternity. And the grass around his lair was brittle like...

Re: The Words of the Law
Verena is the god of justice - i.e. in D&D terms Lawful Good. Law ruled by temperance and compassion where the spirit of the law is very much as important as the letter of the law. Solkan is a god of law and vengeance, a very D&D Lawful Neutral type on steroids. A retributive, fire and brims...

Re: Thousand Thrones
I was more thinking about what changes Johann would make to the campaign though. After all a lot of the Crusade stuff politics peters out at Altdorf.
I've no idea why when Karl is kidnapped in Altdorf the Crusade are next seen in wartorn Wolfenberg.

Re: Thousand Thrones
Another thing I'm thinking of doing is replacing the NPC Helmut's role with the Grand Theogonist Johann Esmer. Once a corrupt politician Johann was exiled to Marienburg when the resurrected Volkmar returned after the Storm. Having once denounced Valten and clearly regretting it, under Karl's influen...

25% less tentacly. 25% more geometrically crystally.
The law gods are an interesting concept. In 2e onwards they could actually be aspects of Chaos since Law was erased from the cosmology largely.

Re: Questions about Rough Night at the Three Feathers
Or have both aggreived parties actually be involved separately in some kind of insurance/legal scam whereby they hire the worst pair of opposed Champions ever and have them flail around ineffectually. "Ah, Gravine, I see your champion smells slightly of dung." "And Herr Baron I'm surp...

Re: Questions about Rough Night at the Three Feathers
That said having the Champion be the weediest party member presents amusing possibilities.
"Me? Fight a duel? A gong farmer? Why didn't you choose Theo the Pit Fighter here?"
"DO NOT QUESTION THE GRAVINE!"

Re: The Enemy Within: a Companion
I have to admit, I do have a soft spot for Empire in Flames (although the original synopsis you posted looks like it could've been much better). The lack of any thread relating to the original Emperor in EiF was always a bit odd. I like what you added, and I think it is highly unlikely C7's Director...

Re: Thousand Thrones
Some of this was mentioned in the aborted expansions - especially the links to DotL's Egg. Another thought - I've heard complaints that the PCs lack any backup or healing. I was tempted to introduce something like the Three Miracles of Karl. That is, give Karl some more powers, which could conceivab...

Re: Thousand Thrones
I thought I'd share some more of my chunderings as my players are about to begin Chapter 2 next session... --------------- One of my major problems is Karl's true nature. Any player playing the module as written should know by the end of Chapter 1 that Karl is not the second coming of Sigmar but jus...

Re: Thousand Thrones
I'm planning to nick the idea of the Strigany caravan going to Marienburg and getting waylaid by Blausblut when they meet the PCs. Add in a ghoul/zombie/Strigoi attack and you're golden. That's a great idea - one of the first things you really need to do to run the campaign successfully is create a ...

Re: HP Lovecraft
I'm using Joshis bio as a 2nd hand source. They have mentioned these facts on the Good Friends of Jackson Elias podcast. And I just assume they know their stuff. :) Can I ask your sources on this? It's been about three decades since I read L. Sprague de Camp's biography of HPL, and I still haven't h...

Re: HP Lovecraft
Which one's did you go for? My personal favourite is the White Tree, an original tale they cooked up as a loose sequel to Call of Cthulhu's Tale of Inspector Legrasse, that could easily be repurposed for WFRP. If you like HP Lovecraft but find his prose a little overwhelming, I recommend HPLHS's Dar...

He was literally disturbed by the fact both his parents died when he was young with severe mental problems, and was raised as a girl by his controlling mother while young, called ugly by her at every opportunity. And for his time and relative isolation he was quite an advocate for the sciences. I wo...

Re: Thousand Thrones
So we played on more of Chapter 1 yesterday - having returned from the swamp the PCs go running around the Doodkanal. Despite losing a lot of excess silver in bribes they managed to do quite well, eventually getting the map to the Cultists' HQ entering the sewers and entering it. Although the player...

Re: Weird Nights at the Wolfshead
At some point in the adventure the Characters may either have an idea of what is going on, or refuse to participate in the charade before them. At a dramatic juncture the derelich, Herr Wulf, manifests himself (see page 5) and talks with them. This is a reference to his NPC bio on page 5. It tells ...
