Re: Hide Skill (and Concealment Rural/Urban)

i think it was more intended to imply being aware of not disturbing anything that might make noise or otherwise direct attention to their location, but it's not really compatible with the way the rule is exeucted. I'd just say +5% for moving at half speed or lower for caution, or otherwise having t...

House rules

Hey, so i had some time and rifled through the STS forums to recover what i could out of the threads. This is only the stuff that was relatively clean and complete, because i was too lazy to bother with any real editing. i've put it in a .txt file and zipped it for the forum's sake. just crack it op...

Re: Melee (Parry) and Shields

There was actually an attempt to resolve this in the discord chat ratcatcher's guild at one point. andy law tried to explain it and got all tripped up over his ideas and the whole thing was shelved for an errata coming "eventually". practically, i don't think it can actually work as intend...

Re: WFRP: more Europe than US?

being from the US nd having seen the gaming scene in several states, yeah it doesn't do so well here. D100 based systems in general kinda fall behind really, it's a D20 country for RPGs. Agreed. I fight tooth and nail to try and introduce as many gamers as possible to the D100 system. Very few are ...

Re: Warhammer novels, and short stories

I know there is a short story which features a priest of sigmar, trapped under his hourse and a Chaos figure having a long conversation with the poor priest, If i remember correct he is convincing the preist to switch his conviction to chaos or along thows lines. I've been trying to find it again b...

Re: House Rules

Since i had a few hours where i was waiting around, i decided to rifle through the StS forums and gather what house rules i could find concise enough to understand posted there into a text file. i've put them together as lazily as i can, but they have the original poster's names attached. I had a lo...

Re: Errata

You cannot find them because they aren't there, i've checked. i've informed them of issue (and marveled at the sheer lack of understanding of how to run an RPG they show in describing them)

right now most of the lores themselves do pretty much the same thing, the varied stuff is in the general spell pool.

Re: WFRP 4 analysis

1st editon didn't really HAVE color magic though, and restriction is a lore thing.... not to mention you still get to dabble in the non-color magics if you REALLY want to? it says a dark lore and one other lore in regards to learning extra magic, so i'm assuming it means one each of color/dark/other...

Re: Hardy talent thoughts

Hi all Was rolling a character with one of my players. He wanted to play a wood elf hunter. Nothing wrong in that, nice with a ranger who was hunting game and not being Legolas. Oh was I wrong.... first there is the BS thing, he used a 19: so his bs was 49, plus the total of 15 he could put into it...

aren't sylvaneth not dryads but elf souls in what effectively amounts to tree versions of the 40k wraithguard? i recall being in a discusson about dryads and some Ao$ player running their mouth before having to shut him up about that.

Re: Zapp's house rules collection

I keep going over the armor and i can't bring myself to decide if the issue is that the armor prevents crits or that the crits are such a vital part of the system this go-round. unfortunately i can't get a group to playtest so i defer to your experience on the matter. i totally gotta agree with you ...

Re: Town garrison/militia, and WFB

Between the field of glory and pendragon's options it sounds like the dude's set for however much influence the players need to have on the battle. That said, i've never had to handle these sorts of things because my group's always contributed in the manner of "fire a few shots off and flee the...

Re: Enemy With Shadows Details

i get what the artist is going for but they really needed to ease off on the housing piling into the picture, it just looks like a mess. at least the first one tells you "city ahead". this one you don't know where you are. That's the Schaffenfest surely? Rows of tents and bunting etc. the...

look at the two of them together like that, i think the original is better in spite of the obvious flaws. the new one is...too cluttered and lacking in forboding. i get what the artist is going for but they really needed to ease off on the housing piling into the picture, it just looks like a mess. ...

Re: Riding hell for leather, possible house rules?

After searching the boxes of books i don't check anymore (and clearing more dust than i expected) i have to concede i don't have the book with rules for pushing horses i remembered. i'll float the question to a few friends, but i'm gonna assume they don't have it since most of them sold any books th...

Re: Riding hell for leather, possible house rules?

A good question! i remember poaching rules for this off a western-setting RPG when it came up once, but i don't know if there's anything official for WFRP. i'll see if that book is in my storage later and give you the broad rules if i find it.
