I hope you're able to wrap it up to your satisfaction!
Will you do anything particular to help keep the two parties separate? Or to help the players get in one frame of mind rather than the other?

Re: 2nd -> 4th ed. preparation.
If my players are in a scene where they are trying to sneak or infiltrate, then the difference between move and run is the penalty to move silently/hide/ or other related types.

Re: NergalCon
Tadcan, what's your intended format? Roll20? I don't know the platform (and don't really have time to learn it to a standard I consider acceptable to run a game, unfortunately). Discord? I'm willing to go text only (I'm not set up for voice chat and my house is rather chaotic). If we're allowing oth...

Thank you for the compliment! I'm just a fellow amateur hobbyist. I hope you're able to get some good story ideas worked out, let us know if you need any additional help, and let us know how it goes.

Re: Half-Elves in first edition Old World
I was thinking of using an Spy half elf who is hunted by other elves for some misdeed ( in the eyes of the elves but not humans/PC:s ). A spy? who were they spying on? Why? If they're spying on other elves for other elves, why should humans PCs get involved? If they're spying on humans for elves, w...

Re: Half-Elves in first edition Old World
*Can* half-elves exist? Yes. Can you be just as close to lore-canon without including half-elves in your game? Yes.
Do you, the GM, *want* half-elves to exist? What do you hope to gain by using a half-elf in your story?

Re: NergalCon
I'm interested. Depending on formats, time slots, etc I could even be pursuaded to run a game for some of the american players (or brits who want to stay up late).

I'm up for a virtual convention. Depending on the format, I'd also potentially be interested in running a scenario.

Re: Solutions to Whiffing
I think your first task is to define what constitutes an acceptable chance of missing, and what constitutes "whiffing". Changing the mechanics to always hit (or nearly always hit) is equally boring to always missing (equally boring, but more is accomplished). Once you've done that, you hav...

Re: Minor deities or local forms of major deities?
They would join social clubs with rituals somewhat resembling the actual worships performed by the ancient Tileans, but garbled, like how we would read ancient texts about something and get some of the picture but not all of it. Even the names of these dieties might be confused. These new cults woul...

Re: Beyond The Enemy Within campaign, upcoming releases
I agree, Archives of the Empire is probably one of the most intriguing entries on that list. But I won't be buying anything else form C7 until it gets to print; the endless waiting is a bit frustrating.

Re: Beyond The Enemy Within campaign, upcoming releases
Until C7 starts being more accurate about their product release deadlines and transparent when they can't meet one, I have no interest in what they have planned for the future because they can't meet my needs for the present. I am not interested in C7 becoming the Cleveland Browns/Sacramento Kings o...

Re: WFRP 2 career advances
It is a faster calculation which I had considered initially. But rejected it because it gives anomalies in extreme cases (trying to roll over 100% or below 0% at the edges) which is unacceptable for my purposes. Thank you for the input though.

Re: Changing weapons in combat
Here's how I do it. To draw a new weapon *and drop your previous weapon on the ground* is a free action. But, QED, that means your previous weapon is... ...on the ground. To pick up and ready a weapon from the ground is a regular action. To sheathe/stow your old weapon before drawing the new one is ...

Adventurers wanted!
Since we're all still quarantined, I'm sure most of you, like myself, have a lot more free time on your hands. And if you are like myself, then you have the itch to go roaming through the Old World. Here's your chance. I'm looking for two brave souls to help fill out an adventuring party. When: Frid...

Re: WFRP 2 career advances
Yes, that was me.
I'm really glad it was helpful to you also! It really fit the problem without introducing a bunch of new problems and because Player's WS values don't change too often, the extra bookkeeping/work on the GM's part is quite minimal for the value added.

Re: WFRP 2 career advances
Stat advances are not cumulative, they are absolute. Each career you enter allows a certain number of advances to be taken in specific attributes, if the new career's max is higher **than the number of advances already taken** it raises the number of max advances that can be taken in that attribute,...
