the second harrowing in the north took part last sunday with three games in the morning and two (larger ones) in the afternoon.
i ran my wfrp classic edition game 'mirages shimmering in the heat', which i wrote for and played at timcon x, in the morning with the optimal five players. one of the pc's was a necromancer seeking to lure a suitable victim to a pyramid in the sahra desert in order to sacrifice her and reanimate a long-dead mummifed pharoah. he also needed able types to help negotiate the hazards of desert travel, and the emira's 'devoted' servant and a couple of ne'er-do-wells seeking to avoid justice were just the job. private no-one really's portrayal of the emira's entitlement tested her servants devotion beyond breaking point. i suspect it ended badly for everyone as they went their separate ways in an extremely hostile environment.
after lunch i played in the event organiser's 'unseen alchemicals' scenario for knave. shenanigans were had, potions were drunk and fires were lit. we all died, realising why none of us had not become head of the faculty of alchemy.
with the premature ending of that scenario if hoped into rod's wfrp4 scenario 'the chariot of grom', aka 'goblin heist' as an orc artillerist, part of a horde attacking the city of middenheim in order to pillage the roof timbers of ulric's temple in order to repair grom the paunch's chariot. we were all very high powered, in some cases with thousands of followers. we had successfully breached the city at the point i had to leave.
all in all a fun day but there was less dark in the fantasy this year.
