Getting back into the game but a few questions came up when planning.

Does witchcraft allow mixing of lores? I know normally you can't.

Does allowing elves more than one lore break the game?

The compendium hunter, should they get animal care/training and rode now that they start with animals?

Lastly, the compendium form of the mercenary, are those extra talents added or in place of the last two? It's clear the weapon replaces or you can run into some characters starting with two crossbows. Or is there a point to that?

Sorry for all the questions.

okay, so the deal with elves is they CAN learn more than one lore canonically, but they don't get to learn a second lore until they've mastered the first, and so on. which means practically they aren't likely to have multiple lores as a player character unless you're throwing around a LOT of XP.

Yes: That's more or less the only mechanical advantage to it.

I doubt it. But I have never tried.

They don't get animals. The 'Tools of the Trade' entry is rather confusing and appears to have little basis on the actual career. If you want that sort of Hunter you should probably should progress into Animal Trainer.

Fuck alone knows. It's another product of the Career Compendiums refusal to actually pay any attention to the games it's designed for. I would not give the abilities out for free, as that's basically a bonus of 100 xp. TBH, as with a lot of things, unless your player has their heart set on playing one, I just would not worry about it.

Thank you, so tools of the trade is more a background thing? It did seem confusing that they didnt add the necessary skills. Good point about the extra xp. I think I'll have it replace the last talent choice if chosen. That way xp stays the same, but you get another option.

Ah ok, good to know.

Is horned hunters two handed weapon a mistake?

That's an outstanding issue from terror in Talbhiem. If it where me, I would give them Specialist Weapon Two handed instead of Frenzy.

Ah, I saw in the last printing of terror in talbhiem they made it a hand weapon, which left me confused. But makes sense if this is an old issue.
