Is there a certain number of spells that a wizard need to have memorized, in order to advance to the next career tier? E.G. from wizard to master wizard.
I can't seem to find anything on it in the rulebook.

Not that I know of.

No, you do not in fact have any requirement to learn spells at all (beyond the ones you get as a bonus with the petty magick talent) to become the highest rankign wizard. so you can easily end up with the patriatch of the jade college being an overly enthusiastic animal breeder that believes the can breed a type of chimera for trainability whose need to get authorty to contain the beasts got out of hand, like i was doing.
